OBERGO BODEGAS
Bodegas Obergo's 2007 vintage is characterised by a limited production, which guarantees ripeness and a perfect concentration in the grapes from our parcels, used to produce the OBERGO wine range.
The high quality of the grape has helped making wines that are rich in the polyphenols which give our reds their colour and structure ; this year they are noticeable for their good balance between sourness and concentration.
On principle, the wines of this vintage present a Northern profile, from the sensory parameters of the grape (complex, balanced and with a lot of ripe fruit). This is probably due to a rather cool summer with milder temperatures, and to a later than usual harvest which coincided with the first of the autumn chills.
Our 9 hectare property, located on the hillsides of the Secastilla Valley, yielded 42 600 kilos of grape.

It has been an ideal year for cold pre-fermentive soaking, given the perfect healthiness and ripeness of the grape : The aromatic extraction has been highly satisfactory. The alcoholic fermentations followed perfect kinetics due to the strict controls that were carried out, together with the extraction of round and ripe tannins that can only be obtained out of grapes of the highest quality.
The malolactic conversions in cask have begun to blend these wines and the current evolution is satisfactory. When this is completed, we foresee wines that will be elegant, fruity and mineral on the nose, whilst concentrated and gentle in the mouth.
We hope that these news were of interest to you, and we leave you with the peace of mind of a job well done and the pleasure of seeing the auspicious evolution of this new vintage.
